I guess blogging is no longer my thing. But I have the urge to write my thoughts though somewhere and obviously writing them on papers is no longer an option as I lost my diary. lol

Also talking about my thoughts out loud to people is something I don't do in life for two reasons. First, I'm not good at expressing my feelings/thoughts in words; second, they don't really care.

I wanted to talk about birthday.

It in was January and I planned out my birthday, of what I'd do on that day. No, I did not organize a party, just an adventure with my loved ones. In the morning, we went for hiking at Broga Hill, and had lunch at Korean restaurants, hi-tea at Dip 'n Dip later in the evening. No cakes, no party, no material gifts. We had a great time together although it wasn't how people would normally celebrate their birthday.

Birthday. It is something that people, we, expect the others to notice us, and we expect things from them. Like, being remembered, getting gifts, etc just to make ourselves happy and that, would lead to disappointment as things didn't turn out as you expect it to be. What people on twitter would usually says, expectations will lead to disappointments. As you grow up, the lesser people wish your birthday and the lesser the gifts or none at all.

As I grew up, I've realized, birthday is no longer having to receive gifts or being treated for dinners and all that. It's about sharing the best moments, have a good time with your loved ones. It's a special day that are meant to be shared with others. It may sound cliche, give people happiness, and you'll find happiness within. It's true, I must say that I had a great time with my loved ones with me, and get them to have a good time.

Lest you forget, a birthday is something you should celebrate yourself alone, you shall also celebrate your mother, she's the one in whole lot of pain just to let you out from her womb. She's the one that carried you, take care of you since you were few weeks in the womb until you're a grown up. I've never celebrate my mother though, I will next year. InshaAllah.

I don't know about others though but giving others reason to feel happy about really makes me happy. It's fun to make people happy. Don't you feel happy when the person you smiled at smile back at you? haha I do.

The  reason I write this is because I always bump on to some posts on the social media about how sad/devastated some people are on their birthday and most of them are like 'nothing to do on my own birthday' 'it's the same as everyday.' 'nothing special'. Well make them special! Don't wait for people to make it special for you, make the special day of your own. It's your birthday, don't you think you should give something to yourself?

It is you who can make yourself happy. If you cannot make yourself happy, so are others. Find your own happiness. :)
